Meet the GALAXY of Stars in Autograph Sessions on 23 & 24 May & News Flash

It is only a few days before the curtain goes up at the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre while the brilliant ballet stars will soon sparkle at the international ballet gala. To enjoy a dance preview of GALAXY, click here.

What's more? How about an intimate moment with the guest artists as well as The Hong Kong Ballet's star dancers?

Two special post-performance autograph sessions will be held on May 23 & 24 outside the Grand Theatre for GALAXY ticket holders of the performances. If you are a true ballet fan, you cannot miss this special event! However, we do have a limited quota, so first-come, first-served.

It is also worth noting that Guest Principal Tan Yuan Yuan and Damian Smith from San Francisco will now be bringing the much lauded former New York City Ballet resident choreographer Christopher Wheeldon's After the Rain pas de deux instead of Wang Xin Peng's Tango Duett. "After the Rain was beautifully performed as the Tan and Damian committed themselves to the awkward and hesitant quality of the movement. It later evolved into a melding of two bodies and a relationship of trust, pleasure and hope." (Danielle Marie Georgio, Dance Lecturer at the University of Texas)

Another celebrated ballerina, Shoko Nakamura from Berlin, will bring to audience Alles Walzer to replace the duet, Transparente, as her partner Cyril Pierre had to pull out of this gala at the last minute due to an injury. She has therefore chosen to dance a solo work, Alles Walzer which was created by ex-Director of the Vienna State Opera Ballet, award-winning Italian choreographer Renato Zanella to Johann Strauss Jr's beautiful music.

GALAXY will be held on May 22 and 23 (Friday and Saturday) at 7:30pm; 2:30pm on May 24 (Sunday) at the Grand Theatre of Hong Kong Cultural Central. Tickets priced from $140 to $1000 (VIP), limited tickets are still available at all URBTIX outlets.
