Brett Simon
Soloist
Brett Simon was born in Adelaide, South Australia where he began his dance training with Sheila Laing. He studied in Melbourne for three years at The Australian Ballet School where he performed with The Australian Ballet, The Dancers Company and The English National Ballet. Upon graduating from The Australian Ballet School, Brett joined West Australian Ballet.
Since joining West Australian Ballet, Brett has performed in works by choreographers such as Chrissie Parrott, Stephen Page, Ted Brandsen, Matjash Mrozevski, Jorma Uotinen and Simon Dow. His featured roles include Paris in Romeo & Juliet, Marcello in La Bohème, The Prince in Cinderella and the Viscomte de Valmont in Dangerous Liaisons - a role for which he was nominated for Best Male Dancer at the 2005 Helpmann Awards. In January 2006, Brett was invited, along with dance partner Emma Sandall, to perform at the Intermission Performance of the Prix de Lausanne.
Brett joined Hong Kong Ballet in February 2007.
