Kyoko Tomimura

Born in Osaka Japan, Kyoko Tomimura started to learn ballet at age three and received formal ballet training at Egawa Ballet School at 16.

In 1994, Kyoko won the First Prize in the Kobe Ballet Competition and the Hyogo Prefecture Prize. In 1995, she was awarded the IBM Scholarship in the 5th Asian Pacific Ballet Competition.

Kyoko joined Hong Kong Ballet in 1998. She was promoted to Coryphée and Soloist in 2003 and 2004 respectively. She has danced major roles in many of the Company's repertoire including Nightingale in The Emperor and the Nightingale, Queen of the Wilis, Myrtha in Giselle, Cinderella in Cinderella, Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara in The Nutcracker. She was awarded Favourite Coryphée or Member of the Corps de Ballet and Artistic Staff's Award in the Dancers' Awards held by the Friends of Hong Kong Ballet.
