Liang Jing

Ballet Master

Born in Hunan - into a family of professional dancers - Jing began training at the Attached Middle School to the Beijing Dance Academy at the age of ten and later studied at the Beijing Dance Academy. In 1986, he joined the Shanghai Ballet, and in 1991 he became a Principal Dancer with the National Ballet of China. As a top-grade China National Dancer, Jing was invited to perform in the OscarĀ® Awards Ceremony in 1994.

Jing joined the Hong Kong Ballet in 1997 and was promoted to Principal Dancer in 1998. Jing took the dual role of Principal Dancer and Assistant Ballet Master since October 2006. In November 2007, Jing was promoted to Ballet Master.

Jing won Performance of the Year in a Principal Role, Dancers' Dancer of the Season, Favourite Principal Dancer and Best Performance in a Solo, Pas de Deux or Pas de Trois Role in Dancers' Awards held by the Friends of Hong Kong Ballet.
