The Youth Intensive Programme "Ballet with the Stars 2008" held during 10 –13 February in our rehearsal studios at Hong Kong Cultural Centre had warmly finished on the last day with a mini student performance, allowing students to share what they have learnt with each other.

The Hong Kong Ballet artistic members including Senior Ballet Mistress Lin Mei-fang, Ballet Mistress Cheung Yui-man, Ballet Master Liang Jing and Principal Dancers Faye Leung and Jin Yao and Dancers Eve Chan, Selina Chau, Aurora Kwong and Catherine Lau joined as instructors to coach students and teach them the variations from some of our company's repertoire including Swan Lake and Paquita, The Nutcracker, Coppélia and Cinderella in the four-day workshop.

There was noticeable improvements in the girl's ballet technique after the 4-day workshop. They were also thrilled to learn steps and partnering techniques from our professional dancers.

Joyce Fung from Junior Class Group 1 said "I learned so much from different professional dancers in the programme. Amongst others, I like the ballet mime class most! Now I have a more thorough understanding of ballet mime movements."

Audrey Chan from Advanced Class really enjoyed the pas de deux class. "I can learn how to co-operate with my partner which I rarely have the chance to encounter in ballet school."
