Hong Kong Ballet Principal Dancers Faye Leung and Zhang Yao were invited to perform in "Dancing for AIDS Orphans", which was held on 20 to 22 August at the Seishonen Centre in Yokohama, Japan. It was a charity event for children whose lives have been affected by the AIDS pandemic in Africa.

With the world's renowned ballerina Lynn Charles as the Founder and Artistic Director, "Dancing for AIDS Orphans" Charity Gala featured a stellar cast from around the world. Performing alongside ballet stars including Manuel Carreño from the American Ballet Theatre, Mara Galeazzi from Teatro alla Scala Ballet Company (Italy) and Maiko Oishi from Leipzig Ballet (Germany), Faye Leung and Zhang Yao danced the Pas de Deux of the Company's original production Turandot in the gala performance.
