Born in Henan, China, Sun Haonan graduated from Shanghai Dance School in 2012 and joined Shanghai Ballet the same year. He was a Leading de Ballet until joining Hong Kong Ballet as a Coryphée in 2017.

With Hong Kong Ballet, he performed principal and featured roles of Prince Siegfried in Yuri Ng’s Ballet Classics for Children: Swan Lake, Russian Doll and Chinese Doll in Terence Kohler’s The Nutcracker, and performed in Nina Ananiashvili’s Don Quixote, Christopher Wheeldon’s Rush, Alexei Ratmansky’s Le Carnaval des Animaux and more. He has also danced in Derek Deane’s Swan LakeThe Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Xin Lili’s The Butterfly Lovers and Giselle, Hu Rongrong, Fu Aidi, Cheng Daihui and Lin Yangyang’s The White-Haired Girl, to name a few.
