Venus Villa
Principal Dancer

Born in Havana, Cuba, Venus Villa trained at the prestigious Cuban National Ballet and at the La Scala Ballet School. Villa previously danced with The Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Vienna State Opera Ballet and The Washington Ballet. She joined Hong Kong Ballet as a Principal Dancer in 2018.

Villa has performed almost all lead roles in classical ballets including Septime Webre and Charla Genn’s Giselle, Anna-Marie Holmes’ Le Corsaire, Terence Kohler’s The Nutcracker, Septime Webre’s ALICE (in wonderland) and The Great Gatsby, as well as Coppélia, The Snow Queen, Romeo and Juliet, Etudes and many others. Villa also performed in Wayne McGregor’s Chroma, toured in Italy in 2014 performing Luigi Martelletta’s Carmen and guest performed as the Sugar Plum Fairy in Cincinnati Ballet’s The Nutcracker.

Villa was nominated for a Spotlight Award, Female Artist (Classical) at the UK Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards 2007. She won the Grand Prix at the Vignale Ballet Competition at age 17 and English National Ballet’s Emerging Dancer Award in 2009.
