On 29th August 2015 Hong Kong Ballet hosted two sessions of an enjoyable and informative pre-performance talk at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The Company’s Artistic Director, Madeleine Onne, and Education & Community Outreach Manager, Vency Kwok, conducted a 20-minute pre-performance talk in English and Cantonese respectively in which they discussed the background and the story of Pinocchio, as well as an introduction to the choreographer, and the costume and set designers. Hong Kong Ballet’s dancers, Vanessa Lai, Hui Ka Chun Kenneth, Lucas Jerkander and Jessica Burrows, also participated in the talk and shared their experiences and challenges in acting/dancing in this brand new ballet. The talk was attended by approximately 180 audience members in total who then watched Pinocchio with a deeper insight into it.
