
[Hong Kong — 13 December 2025] In its fifth year, Hong Kong Ballet (HKB)’s The Nutcracker – A Hong Kong Adventure by Artistic Director Septime Webre surprised audiences with two very special new cast members, Ocean Park’s panda twins Jia Jia and De De and the addition of the iconic Star Ferry. Henderson Land Proudly Presents The Nutcracker runs 12-28 December at Hong Kong Cultural Centre’s Grand Theatre with live accompaniment by Hong Kong Sinfonietta under the baton of Fayçal Karoui during 12-26 December.
On opening night, HKB proudly hosted Henderson Land management, including its Corporate Communications Department Chief Communications Officer Ms Cynthia Leung, Project Management General Manager Mr Victor Kwok, Corporate Communications Department Deputy General Managers Ms Amy Lam and Ms Jane Ha and Corporate Communications Department Head of Brand Estella Chan, along with HKB Vice-chairman Ms Linda Fung HKB Board of Governors members Ms Lindzay Chan, Miss Flora Zeta Cheong-Leen, Dr h.c. and Ms Maya Lin, Committee member Mrs Mira Yeh, The Hong Kong Ballet Guild Co-chairs Mrs Emily Lam Ho, JP and Mrs Emelda Wong Trainor and other esteemed guests.
With Henderson Land’s generous donation to HKB’s Accessibility Fund, 30 underprivileged people can enjoy the 21 December matinee and a pre-performance talk to learn more about The Nutcracker from its creative team. A locally inspired reimagining of the classic ballet that’s an annual festive favourite for families across the city, The Nutcracker premiered in 2021 and notably won UNESCO’s Star of Outstanding Award and the Spirit of Culture Award at the 12th Spirit of Hong Kong Awards in 2024.
