Hong Kong Ballet Announces
New Chairman of the Board


[Hong Kong – 18 April 2019] The Hong Kong Ballet Board of Governors announces that Mrs Mira Yeh was appointed the new Chairman of the Board, succeeding Ms Daisy Ho, who now becomes Vice-Chairman. Both assumed their roles effective 1 April 2019. 

“It’s my great honour to be elected as Chairman of the Board of Governors,” said Mrs Yeh. “I am extremely grateful for the Board’s support for and confidence in my appointment. Under Daisy’s stewardship, Hong Kong Ballet, fueled by the leadership of Artistic Director Mr Septime Webre and Executive Director Mr Paul Tam, has shown exciting growth in recent years. The coming year will see the Company enter its 40thprofessional season, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Board, the Management and Dancers, as well as other stakeholders to bring this wonderful arts organisation to the next level of excellence, further cementing its place as a treasured cultural asset of our community and an exciting brand ambassador for Hong Kong.” 

“I am delighted that I could pass the Board leadership to Mira, who is the most suitable choice thanks to her passion for ballet, strength in raising support for the Company and her commitment to its development,” said Ms Daisy Ho. “With her understanding and appreciation of the Company from her tenure as Vice-Chairman since 2014, I am confident that she will lead the Company into an exciting 40th anniversary season, as it continues to grow in artistic and corporate accomplishment.”  

An arts enthusiast and ballet devotee, Mrs Yeh has been a Governor of Hong Kong Ballet Board since 2011 and Vice-Chairman since 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Occidental College in Los Angeles and a Masters of Arts in Fashion Merchandizing from Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. With a successful career in auditing and luxury goods for multinational firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and Bluebell Group, she founded her own fashion enterprise, M16, in the 2000s. Mrs Yeh has devoted the last decade to charitable work for institutions like Hong Kong International School and Hong Kong Ballet.  

Hong Kong Ballet will celebrate its 40th anniversary season from August 2019 to June 2020.  The Season subscription will kick off in early May.
