Hong Kong Ballet presents

Ballet Classics for Children: The Sleeping Beauty

An Additional Performance by Popular Demand!

[Hong Kong – 8th January 2016] Start the New Year with Hong Kong Ballet’s Ballet Classics for Children: The Sleeping Beauty, a child-friendly production for the entire family! Due to overwhelming popular demand, Hong Kong Ballet is pleased to announce an additional performance (with narration in Cantonese) on Saturday, 30th January at 12:00nn. Tickets will be available at URBTIX from 9th January.

Following the success and sold-out performances of the first two instalments of Ballet Classics for Children, Hong Kong Ballet now presents its third edition of this popular, fun-filled series. The talented Hong Kong Ballet dancers will deliver educational, interactive, and light-hearted entertainment for audiences of all ages. Masterminded once again by renowned local choreographer Yuri Ng, this one-hour abridged version of the full length classic will enchant your little ones through an innovative blend of storytelling, dance, and interaction. With lively narration by Rick Lau, it will be the best first introduction to a live ballet performance for children as young as 5 years. There will now be eight performances staged at the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre from 28th – 31st January 2016.

Based on the fairytale by Charles Perrault, The Sleeping Beauty is about a true love that spans a hundred years and following your dreams and triumphing against adversity with the help of some good fairies. Tchai-ricksy (Narrator Rick Lau) will take you on this captivating journey and share with you his creative process including the music composition for this ballet. Come along for the ride and let your imagination run free!
