Hong Kong Ballet Rings in the Festive Season with FANCL

Proudly Presents The Nutcracker

[Hong Kong – 26 October 2018] Enchanting children and adults alike since its first performance, FANCL Proudly Presents The Nutcracker continues a beloved holiday tradition with its seventh annual Hong Kong Ballet production featuring Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous, iconic score performed live by Hong Kong Sinfonietta.

This all-time ballet favourite sweeps Clara and Fritz into a magical dollhouse on Christmas Eve where they embark on a thrilling adventure to help the brave Nutcracker conquer the sinister Rat King and reunite with his Ballerina true love. Audiences will be enchanted by this wondrous world filled with mischievous rats, valiant toy soldiers, dramatic sword fights, glittering snowflakes and captivating dolls.

For the third consecutive year, Title Sponsor FANCL sponsors this timeless classic by acclaimed Australian choreographer Terence Kohler, who created this production especially for Hong Kong Ballet. This year FANCL invites their spokesperson - Hong Kong actress Annie Liu to make exciting cameo appearances on 14 December at 7:30pm and on 15 December at 2:30pm in a special role tailored for her.

Artistic Director Septime Webre enthuses, “The Nutcracker is filled with such magical sensibility - it’s witty, musical and breathtakingly beautiful. Combined with Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score, it becomes something amazing and an unforgettable experience for the entire family to enjoy together.”

The production will run from 14-16, 19-23 and 25-26 December 2018 at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre for 16 performances. Tickets are available at URBTIX now and are priced at $680, $480, $320 and $180, with VIP tickets at $1,000. Embrace the magic of festive season with your loved ones at this joyful holiday event!
