[Hong Kong – 12 Nov 2018] Hong Kong Ballet’s 1st International Gala of Stars, proudly presented by China Everbright Limited (Everbright) on 2 November, wowed a full house and garnered both enthusiastic audience praise and critical acclaim. International ballet stars Tan Yuan Yuan, Sarah Lane, Adiarys Almeida, Herman Cornejo, Taras Domitro, Brooklyn Mack, and Matthew Golding shone in this glittering programme featuring breathtaking excerpts from Swan Lake, ALICE (in wonderland), Le Corsaire and Don Quixote, a dance set from Yuri Possokhov, Edwaard Liang, Christopher Wheeldon and Trey McIntyre and the Asian premiere of Anabelle Lopez Ochoa’s mesmerizing Sombrerisimo.

Prior to the performance, Everbright hosted an elegant cocktail reception attended by Mr & Mrs Chen Shuang, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer of Everbright Ltd.; Mr Kevin So, Chief Strategy Officer of China Everbright Ltd.; Mr Neil Shen, Founding & Managing Partner of Sequoia Capital China; Dr Lee George Lam, Chairman of Cyberport; Mrs Christine Ip, CEO for Greater China of UOB; Ms Daisy Ho, Chairman of Board of Governors of Hong Kong Ballet; Mrs Daphne King Yao, Ms Linda Fung, Mrs Deirdre Fu Tcheng, Ms Lindzay Chan, Mr Arthur Minshiang Wang, Members of Board of Governors of Hong Kong Ballet; Mrs Christine Liao, Ms Jean M. Wong, BBS, Honorary Advisors of Hong Kong Ballet,and other special guests who met and took photos with Company dancers. Dedicated to supporting and promoting the development of Hong Kong arts, Everbright is title-sponsoring a Hong Kong Ballet production for the fourth consecutive year and giving a  generous gift to the Accessibility Fund for the third consecutive year. As a result, two beneficiary organisations, We R Family Foundation and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Tuen Mun Integrated Services Centre, received complimentary tickets for 45 people to attend Giselle’s 28 October matinee performance.
