On 17-18 December, two insightful The Nutcracker Pre-performance Talks were given by the Artistic Director Madeleine Onne in English and Company’s Education and Community Outreach Manager Vency Kwok in Cantonese. Over 130 audience members listened intently to the 20-minute discussions at Hong Kong Cultural Centre before heading over to the actual performance.

Choreographer Terence Kohler discussed his choreography and his process of bringing this festive story to the stage. Company dancers Tirion Lok-huen Law, Luis Cabrera, Vanessa Nok-sze Lai and Chun-long Leung were interviewed about their experiences during the production, and audience members were excited to viewing them in their beautiful costumes. The talks were a perfect introduction to The Nutcracker, giving guests relevant and interesting background information and history before the show.
