Education and Outreach Department
Hong Kong Ballet Education and Outreach Department was established in 1986 with the commitment to ballet and dance education. The Department strives to make the art of ballet accessible to the general public as well as to develop the next generation of audience via education performances, ballet courses, workshops, master classes, meet-the-artist sessions and lectures.
Director of Education and Outreach Department

Shirley Loong began her ballet training with Ms. Jean Wong, and graduated at the National Ballet School of Canada and the John Cranko Schule Stuttgart, Germany with Ballet Diploma.
Dancer of the Hong Kong Ballet Company in 1990. Later on she pursued business studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia and received Bachelor of Business in Marketing with distinction.
In 2001-2004, she was the General Manager of the Hong Kong Ballet Group and had coordinated major events such as the “1st, 2nd and 3rd Young Ballet Stars Award” and the summer productions of "Cinderella's Slippers Lost & Found", "La Sylphide" and "Swan Lake". During that time, she was the instructor for the City Contemporary Dance Company’s Dance Centre as well as teaching the RAD syllabus in the local ballet schools. She has also been invited to judge in various dance competitions.
She is currently a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance and the Beijing Academy of Dance. She is also the Arts Advisor of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and the Honorary Secretary of the Royal Academy of Dance, Hong Kong Committee.

Carol Wong Ka Wing started ballet at the Christine Liao School of Ballet when she was five. In 2005, she graduated from the Hong Kong Academy For Performing Arts with Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Modern Dance performance and choreography. During her study, she received scholarships to attend the American Dance Festival for training and toured with the Academy in overseas. She then performed with the Danceart Hong Kong in Taipei, the America and Canada, as well as appeared in the Passover Dance Company's production of “Xin Xiang”. She is now a freelance dance artist and instructor. She is also dedicated to rehabilitation education in dance and art administration.
Education and Outreach Coordinator

Elena Wong Ying Chi graduated at the City University of Hong Kong and received Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in English for Professional Communication. She began her dance training at the age of four. She studied at the Erik's School of Dancing, and has taught Chinese dance in many primary, secondary schools and community organizations. She has just completed the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Associate Level in Folk Dance. She is currently a registered teacher of the Beijing Dance Academy Chinese Dance Graded Examination. She is a newly joined member of the education team.
