A preview of The Nutcracker was staged the evening of Tuesday 8^th December 2015 at the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Around 120 audience members attended the preview, which was co-hosted by Company Manager, Pablo Guzman and Education & Community Outreach Manager, Vency Kwok.

During Pablo’s engaging presentation, the audience learned more about the magical story of The Nutcracker and its ballet background. They also became more familiar with choreographer Terrence Kohler’s creative process through the discussions between Vency and Artistic Director Madeleine Onne. The talk was followed by an introduction to the beautiful costumes and sets, as well as the different sizes of the actual props used in the performances.

Finally, the highlight of the preview was the signature dance excerpts performed by Hong Kong Ballet dancers with the instruction of our guest teacher, Johanna Bjornson. The audience truly enjoyed getting an early look at the popular ballet and greeted the performance with enthusiastic applause.
